Know what is in the concrete before anyone drills

Concrete hides a lot: reinforcement, post-tension tendons, electrical conduit and voids. Cutting or coring blind puts crews, structures and schedules at risk. Premium Concrete Technologies uses ground-penetrating radar (GPR) to locate what is embedded in the concrete and mark it on the surface before work begins.

Scanning is built into how we cut and core, and we also provide it as a standalone service for contractors and trades who need to drill, anchor or saw into existing concrete.

One-sided access

Only one side of the slab or wall is needed.

No radiation

No need to clear the area while we scan.

Marked on site

Findings are marked directly on the concrete.

Scan & core

The same crew can scan, mark and complete the work.

GPR can locate rebar and wire mesh, post-tension cables, electrical conduit, other embedded objects and voids, and it can help estimate slab thickness.

Many general contractors and owners require scanning before any cut or core in structural concrete, and we recommend it on every job. It is the simplest way to avoid striking something you cannot see.

Often, yes. Because we provide scanning, cutting and coring, one crew can scan, mark and complete the work, which keeps your schedule moving. Ask when you book.

We mark findings directly on the concrete surface at each location. If your project needs additional documentation, let us know when you request a quote.

For most pre-cut and pre-core work, yes. GPR needs access to only one side of the concrete, uses no radiation so the area does not have to be cleared, and results are marked on site. X-ray can provide more detailed imagery in some situations but requires access to both sides and a cleared area.
